Kaitlyn Chen is set for a larger second-unit role with three Golden State rotation players away on World Cup duty. She played 11.2 competitive minutes against New York and has reached 19.9 and 28.7 minutes in other recent games, giving the Valkyries a tested secondary ballhandler behind Veronica Burton. Chen should see more time alongside Burton and more possessions running the offense herself in Portland. The exact balance between extra guard minutes and larger wing lineups remains uncertain, but her opportunity is materially stronger than it was with the full roster.
