Jessica Shepard has re-established herself as one of Dallas's most important frontcourt players. She has started three straight games and played 35.5, 26.8 and 34.1 minutes, punctuating that run with 21 points, nine rebounds, six assists and two steals against Portland. The Wings can still use different combinations of Shepard, Alanna Smith and Awak Kuier depending on the matchup, but Shepard's passing and interior scoring have earned her a much longer leash than she had during an uneven early-August stretch.
